Code of Ethics

...not just a way of thinking, but a way of acting to integrate values into the business strategy.

Over the course of 2009, Zambon reflected its "integral company" vision in a programmatic document which, signed by its shareholders, was shared with all of the individuals who work at Zambon; it is a summary which lays down not just a way of thinking, but a way of acting to integrate values into the business strategy. In fact, the values described in the document are of interest more for what they do than for what they are, focusing on consistent goals, organisational tools and managerial practices and behaviours. Their strength is credibility, which must be reinforced not only by taking on an excellent idea, but bringing into focus the necessary convergence between what's right, and what's convenient. For this reason, Zambon has configured its business strategy through healthy pragmatism of values, based primarily everyday business but which also extends to provide specific contributions to environmental sustainability, regional economic development, quality of life and cultural development.

The Code of Ethics is an instrument which lays down a set of values which the Zambon Group recognizes, shares and promotes, in the knowledge that a business run on principles of diligence, correctness and loyalty constitutes a driving force for economic and social development.

This is what the Zambon Constitutional Charter represents, an authentic manifesto of the rights and moral duties which place a moral and social responsibility on all of our shoulders. The Code of Ethics is an integral part of the Organisation, Management and Control Model adopted by the leading Italian companies of the Group according to Legislative Decree 231/2001.

In June 2009, with its document "Prendersi cura di un’impresa Integrale" ("Taking care of an integrated company"), Zambon gave a more precise definition of the "entrepreneurial dream" of setting-up a business "built to last into the future while retaining past traditions". These thoughts have been shared not only with those who work at Zambon, but with those who interact with the company for various reasons, requesting that all become "witnesses and interpreters" of this philosophy through their work, commitment and way of doing things.

This document lays down the values regarded as high priority at Zambon and "which are worth the effort":

  • ethical values: integrity, honesty, attention to people, humility

  • personal values: development of talent and passion, opening up to courage and curiosity, and a strong sense of togetherness; values which are of service to the profession

  • professional values: innovativeness, quality, speed of reaction and discipline; values which are of service to the strategies and objectives that we set ourselves every day

Ethical, personal and professional values represent an integrated business culture set that is cultivated and pervasively transmitted, particularly through the setting of good examples. Integrity and humility are at the root of all values since they allow us to heed our own responsibilities and those of others before proceeding decisively; values which are based on the Group's 100-year heredity and which are the foundation of its constant quest for improvement, in the belief that the history of a business only lives when it is carried forward.
